JCP students contribute 67 minutes

Posted on July 18, 2012

The Faculty of the Faculty Engineering, the Built Environment and Information Technology (EBIT) at the University of Pretoria has a compulsory module for all undergraduates. It entails that the students have to work at least 40 hours in the community and thereafter reflect on their experiences.

Additional to the 40 hours, a group of students of the module decided to paint the walls of the Sunnyside Orphanage Home in Leyd Street, Sunnyside. The students, Vivan Eggers, Tamryn Wolff, James Gerber, Keenan Barnard (all mechanical engineering students), Kamohelo Dimo (metallurgical engineering student) and their lecturer, Dr Martina Jordaan, painted the wall with pictures. Anina Remcken, the owner of The Ginger Bear Shop assisted with the drawing of the stick men.
