What are small-for-gestational age (SGA) newborns, and how do they differ from growth-restricted newborns? How do we use the new conceptual framework of 'Small Vulnerable Newborns' (#SVN) from the 2023 Lancet series (https://lnkd.in/du4BupZS) in our clinical practice? Are there any special considerations in our context, with its high numbers of stillbirths and growth-restricted babies?
Our Reseach Centre Director, Prof Ute Feucht, spoke at the South African Paediatric Association conference (#SAPA2023) this weekend, to stimulate discussions on this important topic on our #SDG journey.
