Prof Robert (Bob) Pattinson, Director of the Maternal and Infant Health Care Strategies Unit, South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC), was nominated for two National Science and Technology Forum awards. This includes the lifetime and management awards.

The NSTF Awards were established in 1998 as a collaborative effort with members and stakeholders to recognise outstanding contributions to science, engineering and technology (SET) and innovation by SET-related professionals, teams and organisations in South Africa. This includes experienced scientists, engineers, innovators, science communicators, engineering capacity developers, organisational managers/leaders, and data and research managers.
