Melantha Coetzee completed both her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees through the University of Pretoria. Thereafter, she completed her fellowship in Paediatrics and her Certificate in Neonatology through the College of Paediatricians of South Africa. Melantha currently heads the Division of Neonatology at Steve Biko Academic Hospital as a subspecialist, as well as being an undergraduate lecturer for the University of Pretoria (UP). She received the UP Faculty Teaching & Learning Awards prize in the emerging category in 2020.
