Marina White is a Master’s student in the Health Sciences department at Carleton University, where she studies under the supervision of Dr. Kristin Connor. She completed her Bachelor of Science Honours in Neuroscience at Carleton University in 2017 and graduated with distinction. She received scholarship funding for her Master’s from the Canadian Institutes for Health Research Canadian Graduate Scholarship-Master’s programme, the Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplement programme, as well as the Ontario Graduate Scholarship programme. Her research interests are comprised of maternal and child health, global health and neuroscience. Marina’s thesis is investigating the role of early life nutrition, comprised of breastfeeding practices, breastmilk composition and maternal lifestyle factors, in neurodevelopment among infants exposed, but uninfected by, HIV in utero.
