Professor Friede Wenhold is a full-time associate professor in the Department of Human Nutrition (Faculty of Health Sciences) at the University of Pretoria. Her professional field of expertise is in the area of nutrition assessment of individuals and for research, with special emphasis on dietary and anthropometric evaluation (including growth assessment), and the scientific validation of such assessment methods.

Apart from her passion for teaching, Friede Wenhold also applies her expertise related to nutrition assessment in research studies that require such evaluations. She has published locally and internationally, led and collaborated in numerous multi-institutional and -disciplinary research studies, consulted to the public and private sector, often presented to peers and the public, and reviewed scientific and other publications.
