Ms Gilfillan has been working at Kalafong since 1991. She started out as a junior dietitian and worked in every single ward in that hospital. Part of her job description is to participate in training UP students, which she has been doing for 27 years. As the years progressed, she was asked to do more lectures at the university which were extended across departments. That is how she ended up lecturing medical students and dietetic students.
She does train outside of the hospital when asked and has given talks at congresses and updates. She completed her master's in 2006 and assisted in other research since then. She also does private practice work as well, but only in neonatology and paediatrics. Her current areas of interest: Foetal programming, paediatric gastroenterology and allergies.
