A perspective on the world is always a perspective from a certain place and is always contrived and expressed in a specific language.
The more perspectives one gains on the world, the more you become aware thereof that your own perspective (as is the case with all other perspectives) is precisely that – one perspective, one manner of understanding. This department studies the particular perspectives on the world made possible through and in Afrikaans.
