Jeanne van Eeden, a Professor in the Department of Visual Arts, has recently been appointed in two key research-related capacities. In March this year, she was appointed to serve on the Performing and Creative Arts, and Design (PCAD) Specialist Committee for the National Research Foundation (NRF). The Specialist Committee deals with all NRF research rating applications for scholars in the performing and creative arts and design, and the appointment runs for four years, from April 2015 to March 2019. Most recently, she has been appointed to serve on the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf) Research Output Evaluation Panel for the Humanities: Linguistics and Literature / Visual and Performing Arts. This is a peer review quality assurance system for discipline-grouped South Africa scholarly books and conference proceedings and works in conjunction with the Department of Higher Education and Training.
