Six Start Dates

UPOnline offers students multiple start dates throughout the year, providing flexibility to begin their studies when it suits them best. Important information to take note of includes the following:

Application Deadlines:
The application deadline is two weeks before the module’s start date. Applications submitted after this deadline will be considered for the next intake.

Registration Period:
Registration opens four weeks before the session begins and closes one day prior to the module start date.

Payment Deadlines:

  • Tuition fees are structured into equal payments per module, payable upon registration. The payment deadline is the module start date.
  • Failure to make a payment or upload proof of payment (POP) via the UP Student Portal within five days of the module’s start date will revoke access to Blackboard/clickUP.
  • Students who have not met the payment requirement by day 11 after the module starts will be deregistered. No exceptions will be made.

Start Dates:
The start date refers to the day your module will commence. UPOnline modules are offered multiple times per year, depending on the programme. Some programmes follow a six-intake schedule, while others follow a five-intake schedule. You can view the specific start dates for your programme on the programme information page, or these can be provided upon request.

Deregistration:
Without exception, students who do not meet payment deadlines will be deregistered on day 11 after the module’s start date. Requests to voluntarily deregister from a module will be accepted only up until the Monday of Week 7.

Module Duration:
Modules are offered in eight-week intervals. Short modules consist of seven weeks of teaching and one week of recess. Long modules span 16 weeks, with 14 weeks of teaching and two weeks of recess. A year-long module typically consists of six blocks, each with seven weeks of teaching and one week of recess in between.

General Information:
Students must register for each module by the registration deadline and adhere to payment and participation requirements until completion of the programme.
