“I’m a science student whose passionate about academic research, teaching and learning. I have a desire not only to accumulate or passively consume knowledge but to be actively involved in its production too. I believe the student forum is instrumental in the fight against malaria: as knowledge producers through research and also as active ground forces functioning to distill the complex scientific research to be easily understood by laypersons. In that way malaria elimination can be achieved through availing information to all groups of people and for that reason I volunteered to be part of the student forum - to contribute towards malaria elimination”.

"I am a visual artist working in the field of Bio Art - a newly established field concerned with the integration of biology, art, and science. I am passionate about environmental wellbeing, as well as bridging the gap which exist in South Africa between the Humanities and the Sciences in a pursuit to make scientific research more accessible to the larger non-scientific community. It is because of this reason that I volunteered to be considered as the chair for the Student Forum. With my research in the field of transdisciplinary science communication, I consistently strive towards finding new and innovative ways of bringing the latest ground-breaking research done at the UP ISMC to various specifically targeted audiences in an attempt to contribute towards malaria elimination.”
