On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the student newspaper, Perdeby, reported that the office’s has received new computer equipment.

The Perdeby (today PDBY) commented on the modernisation of the paper’s. The new computer system allowed the student journalists to do article preparation, layout of the news pages as well as the printing and editing of the draft copies. Standard Bank financed the computer training of the students.
