A Day in the Life of the University of Pretoria. 05 October 1945

On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the student newspaper,  Die  Nuwe Perdeby , wrote about the Jacarandas and the beliefs surrounding "Jacaranda fever". 

Legend has it that if a Jacaranda flower falls on your head you will pass the exams. The 1945 article that was published in the student newspaper, Die Nuwe Perdeby , noted that Jacaranda fever had hit the campus and that most student activities had ended to make way for exam preparation.
