A Day in the Life of the University of Pretoria. 10 May 1966

On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" UP was informed that it would be the first educational institution in South Africa to receive a television.

A 1966 article in The Star reported that UP planned to introduced closed circuit television into its syllabus in an effort to reduce the high failure rate of first year students. It would be the first large educational institution in South Africa that intended to use television as a teaching, communication and training aid in its classrooms.
