On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" students from Afriforum petitioned for mother tongue education.

AfriForum students put up petitions containing 7000 signatures on the graffiti wall next to the Campus Kiosk. The student newspaper, Perdeby (today known as the PDBY) reported on the events. The Chairperson of AfriForum Youth declared that “the petition went with a message to the university management and we invited them to go down and look at it (the Graffiti wall). The goal was not to show people’s private information and that is why it was removed so quickly. The goal was that the university would get the message.”
