A Day in the Life of the University of Pretoria. 23 March 2021

Posted on May 30, 2023

On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" Tuks students took part in a protest.

On 23 March 2021, the PDBY student newspaper reported on a student protest march that took place. The SRC and political student societies expressed their grievances and disapproval at how the University handled NSFAS queries as well as academic and financial exclusions. Several marches were held and a memorandum was delivered to the Vice-Chancellor. UP announced that various measures were to be put in place to ensure “no student is left behind”. The UP SRC embarked on a separate march to the Department of Higher Education in solidarity with Wits students and a memorandum was handed over to the Deputy Minister.

The University of Pretoria Archives (UPA) preserves the history of the University of Pretoria. The UPA houses historical volumes and clippings reflecting on the history of the University as featured here.
