A Day in the Life of the University of Pretoria. 20 October 2014

On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the student newspaper, the Perdeby (today PDBY ) reflected on the dependence on alcohol in the UP community.

The newspaper noted that in a poll amongst their readers, 80.9% indicated that all UP events should serve alcohol and that UP should not be a alcohol free zone. In commenting on the use of alcohol at UP residence parties a student noted, “‘Pot en Pons’ gives students the opportunity to meet people from another residence, exhibit their creativity, test their ability to cooperate and take pride in their hard work. Most importantly, ‘Pot en Pons’ is one of the best parties I have ever attended.”
