Posted on May 22, 2023

On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the Pretoria News reported on the closure of the UP’s pharmacy school.

The National Department of Education decided to end undergraduate pharmaceutical training at Tuks. It did allow post-graduate training to continue. During a fiery debate at a Pharmaceutical Council meeting in Pretoria members described the decision to cease training of pharmacists at the University of Pretoria as ‘illogical’. The training school was founded in 1981 in collaboration with the Pretoria Technikon.
