A day in the life at the University of Pretoria. 01 February 2016

On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the student newspaper the Perdeby reported that due to protests by outsourced workers, UP’s annual Welcoming Day had to be cancelled and the first year Orientation Week had to be postponed.

The protests, entitled #EndOutsourcing, resulted in the University having to send employees home because of safety concerns and, furthermore, a court order had to be obtained from the Pretoria High Court against the unlawful protesters. An agreement was eventually reached after more than a week of disruptions and protests.
