A day in the life at the University of Pretoria. 01 September 1997

On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the university reacted to claims that the Medical Faculty followed racist policies. 

The Faculties of Medicine at the Universities of Pretoria and the Witwatersrand refuted statements by Health Minister, Dr Nkosazana Zuma, claiming that they followed racist admission policies and had not changed curricula to reflect local priorities. UP explained that academic results remained a strong guideline, but that interviews also formed part of the admission process. The Faculty of Medicine at UP explained that it had already revised its curricula.
