A day in the life at the University of Pretoria. 16 May 2021

Posted on May 16, 2022

On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" Tuks Netball reported on the success of the online training that the management team had to implement because of the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

Head of Tuks Netball, Jenny van Dyk, highlighted the value that the online training added to the sport especially when students could not interact physically. The programme inspired the netball team of 2021 by holding them accountable for their own training. Coach van Dyk stated that students often felt isolated during this time and really missed the team spirit but that the online program taught them start working to train and study for themselves. She explained that some students initially struggled to access info due to data constrained but praised the University of Pretoria for setting up a plan that allow students to access the UP portal data-free. The 2021 Tuks Netball team went on to play the first leg of the Telkom National Netball League as the Jaguars. They won all their games. During the September USSA Tournament, Tuks Netball was again unbeaten.
