On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" UP hosted the annual interprovincial South African swimming championship.

The student newspaper the Perdeby reported that Tukkie swimmers Dorothea Neumeister and Rudolph Jansen were expected to win their swimming heats. The newspaper also noted that UP three students in the Waterpolo A team and six students in the B team. The article is featured above.
