On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the student newspaper, the Perdeby reported on the university’s newly founded basketball team.

The 1974 article, as featured above, reported that the new basketball club consisted of both male and female players. The team practiced hard and regularly on the campus. The team were coached by Mrs Ferreira who also played for the national team. The newly created team was set to participate in the provincial championship later in the month.
