A day in the life at the University of Pretoria. 30 September 1977

On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" Tukkie’s student newspaper, the Perdeby invited average Tukkie swimmers to register, prepare and participate in the interhouse gala.

In the article, as featured above, the Tukkie Sport manager, Bob Campbell, invited any Tukkie that could and wanted to swim to register at the Sport bureau and compete in the gala. All races would take place in the width (30 m) of the pool on the sportsground. This 1977 gala, was set to run over a few days in October. No national or provincial swimmers were allowed at these competitions to allow first time competitors and equal change.
