On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the Department of Communication Pathology celebrated the 100th birthday of Prof Pierre Pienaar.

Prof PdV Pienaar was born on 11 August 2004. He established the Department in 1959 and was head of the department until his retirement in 1969. Prof Pienaar continued to teach as an honorary professor until 1974.
