On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the report on the extraordinary design of the new engineering building on campus.

The article, featured above, explained that the two vertical parts of the building will hang between the overhead steel beams. This was accomplished by using hangers of 250mm by 30 mm. Twenty-two hangers of a very high quality steal was used to achieve this effect. The Bureau of Standards visited the sight and also performed safety and quality insurance checks on the hanging beams.
