On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" The TUKS 85 drama and dance group performed the play “Gansdans (Goose dance)” at the Opera in the State Theatre.

The play follows Maans Danster a traveling pedlar who encourages the towns people of a small town in the Free State, to live free from status, money and possessions. The play incorporated popular dances of the era including street dancing; flash dancing and breakdancing. The play was written by Jannie du Toit. Ansie du Toit was the music director and Letti Fick from UP’s drama department. As featured in the article above, UP’s drama department,  hoped to promote the university in rural areas.
