On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the Johannesburg based newspaper, the Rand daily Mail, announced the opening date for the parliament of students in Johannesburg.

According to the article, featured above all the Universities in SA, apart from Rhodes would participate in these debate. The House was divided in to the Nationalist; SAP; Progressive and Labor parties. The following representatives from the Transvaal University College (TUC), the predecessor of UP, attended: R. van Biljon; D. Gould; F. von Blommestein; K.E.W. Penshorn; Miss B. Malherbe.
