A day in the life at the University of Pretoria. 30 June 1977

On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the Tukkies students brought the morning traffic in Lynnwood road to a standstill. Students demanded that Roper road closes.

Many pedestrian and vehicle accidents happen on Roper street. Students demanded on this morning that the road under the Humanities Building should be permanently close for their protection. Police and the traffic police closely monitored the student activities. The article above however noted that the atmosphere was more like a hopeful celebration for a safer road rather than a violent protest atmosphere.
