On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the industrial psychologist prof Swiegers commented on the unfair working environment.

In the article, featured above, Swiergers found that in the workplace in 1974 women have very little options. Swiegers found that gifted women are often frustrated because they have little career growth and appointed on a lower salary scale because of their gender. Men also often refuse to work under females limiting the available senior positions for high level positions for them. Swiegers found that women are also not raised to be interested in “male” positions like mechanical engineering despite them having the intellectual capabilities to succeed in these careers.
