A day in the life at the University of Pretoria. 25 May 1962

On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the student newspaper , Die Perdeby reported on the progress made in the building of the Tukkies swimming pool.

The article, featured above, followed from an earlier call four years ago for students to help with fundraising efforts. The newspaper reported that the University Council and the National Transport Commission were in a number of negotiations to secure a suitable location for the new UP sport venue and  swimming pool. These negotionas also  involved plans to extendend the roads in and around Pretoria. The University proposed that another section of the Experimental the ensure that the natural environment be preserve to ensure that the students could enjoy the area next to the river during.
