On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the student newspaper , Die Perdeby reported on the growth in student numbers in the 1940s.

The article, featured above, explained that only a decade before UP had less than a thousand students. During 1946 UP grew to 2868 students making it one one of the biggest university’s in the country.
