On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the Client Service Centre was opened.
UP history records that the University Council authorised the establishment of a Client Service Centre (CSC)130 at UP in an attempt to provide optimal, centralised student support services at a central and accessible point on campus. Not only did this require a re-engineering of processes and thinking, but also the erection of a new facility, the construction of which started in 2001. The concept of the CSC was completed when the eastern and western lobes of the facility on the ground floor of the Humanities Building were connected to each other and officially opened in April 2002. The CSC was officially opened by the Mayor of Tshwane on 14 May 2002.
The UPA preserves the history of the University of Pretoria. We have an extensive photo collection and earlier copies of the senate, council and faculty minutes. The volumes of the University’s history captured in Ad Destinatium i-v, as featured here, also forms part of our collection. Please contact us on [email protected] to share your memories of Tukkies or access our collection virtually.
