On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the Johannesburg based newspaper, the Rand Daily honored two advocates for their outstanding work and life time commitment to the profession.

Dr Maurice Bliss and Mr Ivon Grindley-Ferris received honorary life memberships of the Transvaal Provincial Division of the Society of Advocates. UP Alumni, Dr. Maurice Bliss was the first person to obtain a law degree at the University of Pretoria.
