On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the Tukkies table tennis team celebrated their golden year with prestigious matches at Mopanie and Jasmyn residences.

The Perdeby reported (article featured above) that to celebrate the 50th anniversary the team invited the top national players for showcase matches. While the first official match took place at the month the team also hosted an open competition, with R50 prize money later in March, to draw more students to the game.
