04 November 1991: Prof. Danie Joubert’s farewell function (see program below). This "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria", ended with the farewell function of UP rector Daniel Malan Joubert (1928-1994).

Prof Danie Joubert was UP’s eight rector. He was born and went to school in Pretoria and also studied at UP. He received his PhD in cattle breeding at the University of Cambridge in 1955 and became rector in 1982. Dr. Anton Rupert describes him as a “…scientist, naturalist, author of hundreds of research publications, art expert, philosopher and innovator…”.
