26 October 1979: New amenities at Tembisa. On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the updated facilities at the hospital was unveiled.

The new amenities included live-in and bathroom facilities as well as a resting areas for students and personnel who have to be ready for service any time of day or night. An area for study, research, administration, tuition and discussions with students was also added.
