08 October 1948: Physical Education Building opened. On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" another building was opened on the Hatfield Campus.

The Physical Education Building was designed by the architects Meiring, Naude & Burg and build for £41 000. The building currently houses the Department of Visual Arts, pictured above.
