A day in the life at the University of Pretoria. 07 October 1927

07 October 1927: T.U.C carnival. On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the Transvaal University College hosted a large scale carnival at the Pretoria Showgrounds.

The carnival (advertised above) was organised by the “Agricultural Development Association” to raise funds for the establishment of an Agricultural Faculty at the College. The event was opened by Princess Alice on 6 October and included aeroplane displays and fancy dress parades. The festivities ended with a dinner and dance on the evening of 7 October 1927
