A day in the life at the University of Pretoria. 29 September 1978

29 September 1978: No extra parking for students. On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the student newspaper, Die Perdeby, reported that the area cleared in Festival street is reserved for official UP vehicles and personnel parking only.

The newspaper (featured above) noted the student’s disappointment. They hoped that the area cleared between Festival and Roper street would be received for them. UP management acknowledged the dire need for more parking space. Facilities Management explained that a student specific car park was part of future plans for the campus.
