23 September 1977: UP’s own traffic officer. On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the student newspaper, Die Perdeby, reported that UP has appointed a permanent traffic officer to police the traffic on campus.

The newspaper (featured above) explained that the new traffic officer will be lenient towards students and first issue a warning before fining offenders.
