15 September 1967: The Building for Basic Medical Sciences inaugurated. On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria” the prime Minister BJ Vorster opened the new building on the medical campus.

The Basic Medical Sciences building, (pictured above) consisted of offices, lecture halls, medical library, museum, cafeteria, relaxing areas.
