03 September 1971: Archives for Klaradyn. On this “Day in the life of the University of Pretoria”, the student newspaper, Die Perdeby, reported on a new project launched by the female residence’s house committee.

Die Perdeby (featured above) appeal to all students and alumna to contact the residence if they have memorabilia to build up a complete archive.

This is the eighteenth year that the UPA has run the Student Resident and photobook project in collaboration with the Student Representative Council and Student Residence Committee members. The aim is to encourage the residences to record and preserve their history by maintaining a residence archive and compiling a photo book for the current year. The archives are judged by their continuity and layout, whereas the completeness and long-term preservation of the respective photobooks are also taken into consideration.
