A day in the life at the University of Pretoria. 02 September 1949

02 September 1949: UP’s Amateur Film bureau (U.P.A.F.) showed the film “New Moon” in the Chemistry hall. This "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" ended with the student film bureau showcasing the popular 1940s musical featuring Eddy Nelson and Jeanette Macdonald (advertisement below).

The student newspaper, Die Perdeby (featured below), explained that the U.P.A.F was formed in 1946 as a student photographic club. In 1949 the club actives included: film studies, still photography and radio technology.
