31 August: African Traditional Medicine Day. On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" UP celebrates the importance of traditional medicine with the rest of the world.

Prof Namrita Lall heads the Medicinal Plant Sciences Programme of the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences. Her research investigates using medicinal plants to cure tuberculosis, cancer, and skin-related diseases.
