29 August 1978:  Spring Queen finals. On this “Day in the life at the University of Pretoria”, the student newspaper, Die Perdeby, the Spring Queen finalists were selected at an event held in the student residence, Tankotie.

The student newspaper (featured above, with the finalists and entry form that was published in the next edition, featured below) explained that readers who correctly predicted the winners could win lavish jewellery prizes.
