26 August 2009: The UP’s 24-hour Operational Management Centre official opening. With the opening of the operational centre on this “Day in the life at the University of Pretoria”, facility and security problems from all the campuses could be handled centrally.

The Operational Management Centre handles a daily average of 300 calls and monitors alarms (panic, data projector, radio panic, intruder and equipment), access control, CCTV cameras, as well as the fire detection and evacuation system.
