As part of this initiative, Prof Ernie Heath was invited to be the guest speaker at the Annual General Meeting of the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI) that was held in Durban on 4 August 2010. The theme of his presentation was “The Changing Tourism Landscape: Posing New Challenges and Opportunities for SAACI Members”.

Prof Heath was also a guest speaker at the 41^st Conference of the Southern Africa Tourism Services Association (SATSA) held at Zimbali Lodge during the period 3-4 September 2010. At the conclusion of the conference he facilitated a strategic work session for SATSA stakeholders, which culminated in a position paper around the theme “SATSA Means Business: Leveraging the Big Event”.
