Mrs Elizabeth Kruger (lecturer and PhD student) and Prof Ernie Heath presented a paper entitled “A stakeholder perspective on leveraging mega-events as an element of tourism destination competitiveness”. Mr Kwakye (a previous postgraduate student) and Prof Heath also presented a paper, entitled “Golf tourism as a sustainable niche tourism destination marketing opportunity for South Africa”, while Mr James Seymour (a PhD student) was a panellist in a panel discussion with the theme “Building on the Legacy of the 2010 FIFA World Cup”.
