The event was organised by CATHSSETA, the National Department of Tourism  and the Department of Economic Development and Tourism in KwaZulu-Natal. During the three-day exhibition, 15 000 learners from all over KZN, Zimbabwe and Malawi attended the exhibitions.

The Department of Tourism Management was represented by Mr Cyril Francis and four second year students of the Tuks Tourism Student Association (TTSA), namely Justine van Bassen, David Leong, Else Muhl and Heidi Konig. The event highlighted the fact that most learners are currently doing Maths Literacy and that pure Mathematics was a rare commodity. This will have major implication on learners who want to enroll for the BCom in Tourism Management, as Mathematics is a required subject for studying BCom at the University of Pretoria.
